European allies of the United States are intensifying their efforts to persuade President Trump regarding the necessity of a unified approach toward the ongoing war in Ukraine. This initiative aims to reinforce leverage over Moscow and Kyiv, as well as safeguard European security. However, Trump and Vice President JD Vance have recently categorized a proposed set of measures presented to both Europeans and Ukrainian officials as an ultimatum, suggesting that the United States might be poised to diminish its involvement.
