Turmoil Strikes Charity Co-Founded by Prince Harry Amid Allegations of Bullying

An escalating conflict between Prince Harry and charity chair Sophie Chandauka raises serious allegations of bullying, leading to Harry's abrupt resignation from Sentebale. With tensions high, five board members have already stepped down, marking a crisis for the organization dedicated to supporting young people affected by HIV.

An escalating feud unfolded on Sunday between Prince Harry and the chair of a charity he helped establish, Sentebale, leading to severe accusations of bullying against the prince. Sophie Chandauka claimed that Harry's recent resignation as patron was a deliberate act intended to damage the organization after he failed to remove her from her position on the board.

In an interview with Sky News, Ms. Chandauka expressed distress over the impact of Harry's decision, stating, “Can you imagine what that attack has done for me, on me, and the 540 individuals in the Sentebale organizations and their family? That is an example of harassment and bullying at scale.” Following her remarks, the spokesperson for Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, refrained from commenting on the issue.

Prince Harry co-founded Sentebale in 2006 as a tribute to his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, focusing on aiding young individuals severely affected by the HIV crisis in Lesotho, with the charity expanding its work to neighboring Botswana and addressing a range of issues, including substance abuse and gender-based violence.

Harry, formally known as the Duke of Sussex, quoted an irreparable rift between the board and Ms. Chandauka as a reason for his resignation alongside Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Notably, just prior to their departure, five of the board's nine members had already resigned, signaling a deepening crisis within the organization dedicated to helping the youth.
