The production team for the new series, set to span over a decade, confirmed the starting date with excitement as they released a photo of the 11-year-old lead. Notably, Scottish actor Dominic McLaughlin appeared in full costume for the first time, creating buzz among fans eager for an updated interpretation of J.K. Rowling’s magical world.

The series is expected to deliver a deeper exploration of the book's narrative compared to the previous films, which faced restrictions due to time limitations. Alongside McLaughlin, the newly announced cast includes Rory Wilmot portraying Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser taking on the role of Garrick Ollivander.

Returning notable names include John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, all set for an engaging interpretation of Hogwarts.

Filming will take place at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, the same location where the original Harry Potter films were produced. Producers express confidence that this adaptation will remain true to the source material, assuring fans that it will remain a “faithful adaptation of the iconic books.”

Additionally, several production team members have a background working on acclaimed shows, including winners from The Crown, with Adriano Goldman as the director of photography and Cate Hall as the hair and makeup designer.

The first series of this highly-anticipated project is scheduled to launch in 2027, promising an exciting new chapter in the Harry Potter legacy.
