Latroya Grayson alleges sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit stemming from a contest win to a party linked to Diddy.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is under legal scrutiny once again as Latroya Grayson files a fresh lawsuit in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) yesterday, represented by attorney Ariel Mitchell. The complaint accuses Combs and associated parties, including Bad Boy Entertainment, Atlantic Records, and Mike Savas, of facilitating her alleged sexual assault at a party stemming from a 2006 contest held by KJAMZ 105.3 FM.
According to the 45-page complaint, Grayson won tickets to what was dubbed the 'Black Party' after entering a radio promotion. The plaintiff, then 23, contends that she was lured to New York under false pretenses by Atlantic Records and its former employee Savas. The invitation to the party, dated for October 6, 2006, was provided to Grayson as evidence in the suit.
The sequence of events took a dark turn for Grayson after she alleges she ingested two pre-made alcoholic drinks at the gathering. Following this, she claims to have lost all memory of the night, waking up in Saint Vincent’s Medical Center of New York with no recollection of how she arrived there. Grayson suspects she might have been drugged and robbed.
In the aftermath, she reported receiving an anonymous call warning her against taking action against Combs. Furthermore, the lawsuit explores RICO-related claims against Combs, asserting a network of support that allegedly enabled his actions.
Mike Savas, the Promotions Coordinator for Atlantic Records during the time, is also named in the lawsuit. Savas now runs a YouTube channel and a company offering exclusive fan experiences with music artists. His ongoing global engagements, however, may complicate the legal proceedings.
As the lawsuit unfolds, it highlights grave issues regarding celebrity culture, accountability, and the safety of individuals lured into potentially dangerous situations. Grayson's allegations have added another chapter to the ongoing discussions surrounding consent and the entertainment industry’s treatment of such serious matters.
