Mark Geragos Faces New Fraud Lawsuit Linked to Alleged Conspiracy
Attorney Mark Geragos is embroiled in a $7 million legal battle with jewelry designer Pamela Love, who accuses him of defrauding her through deceptive business practices.
Attorney Mark Geragos finds himself in legal hot water once again, as New York jewelry designer Pamela Love has filed a $7 million lawsuit against him and Lyndon Lee in the Supreme Court of the State of New York. This latest complaint is centered on accusations of fraud and conspiracy, suggesting that Geragos orchestrated a scheme to defraud Love following her previously granted partial award.
In her lawsuit, Love alleges that a transfer involving the Bathing Club and Alex and Ani was executed as part of a "sham to defraud creditors." The lawsuit claims that on or around July 24, 2024, Geragos facilitated this misleading transaction, which involved a strict foreclosure on Alex and Ani’s assets, ultimately benefiting insiders while putting Love’s claims at risk.
“The purported foreclosure was in name only,” the documents state, highlighting how the company's operations were supposedly manipulated to ignore employee layoffs and rehiring practices occurring on the same day.
Geragos, who has a controversial reputation, has faced scrutiny over various alleged wrongdoings in the past. His involvement in a highly publicized Nike extortion scheme in 2019 alongside imprisoned attorney Michael Avenatti brought him into the spotlight. Additionally, in 2021, Geragos and his firm were criticized for unethical practices by a U.S. District Judge related to a case in Arizona, resulting in a mandate for them to disclose specific violations if they sought to practice law there again.
Moreover, he has been investigated by the State Bar of California over questionable actions linked to Armenian genocide victims in 2022. Tensions further heightened last month when Geragos's daughter, Teny Geragos, became embroiled in controversy following the resignation of Anthony Ricco, another attorney associated with Sean "Diddy" Combs. Speculations arose regarding potential misconduct, and whether both Geragos and his daughter were implicated in the internal turmoil.
As details unfold, many are left wondering about the implications of this lawsuit for Geragos’s already tarnished reputation and whether this is part of a larger narrative involving his alleged connections to criminal behavior within high-profile legal cases.
