Russia Detains Suspect in Killing of Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov

The recent death of Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov has sparked tensions as investigators confirm the arrest of a suspect linked to the bombing.

Russian authorities announced on Wednesday the detention of a suspect in the assassination of Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, a high-ranking military leader, following a bomb explosion in Moscow. The detainee, a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan whose identity remains undisclosed, was apprehended near a village outside the capital. According to a spokesperson for Russia’s prosecutor's office, the suspect confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian intelligence services to carry out the attack. It is reported that he traveled to Moscow and placed an explosive device beneath a scooter parked near the general's residence, which resulted in the deaths of both Kirillov and his aide upon detonation.

An unnamed official from Ukraine’s security service, known as the S.B.U., confirmed the nation’s involvement in the attack. The killing of Lt. Gen.
